Projects

While I love weaving rugs, I am playing more and more with various formats. You will see that I have been on a necktie kick, dreaming up as many ways to use these outdated articles of clothing as possible. The silks are so rich and the patterns fun to coordinate. Once upon a time I collected every color of plastic bag I could find and when I felt there was sufficient variety, the bag lady series began. I have started a series of family portraits using old photographs as the starting point and then imposing new character traits on the unsuspecting relatives. In 2020, the pandemic canceled my show that was to be works inspired by the art of various of my colleagues on the Shoreline ArtsTrail. I have enjoyed trying to put my own twist on their glass, pottery, painting and quilts. Enjoy as much as I have enjoyed the making!

“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”
